meet YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Natalie Clein

British cellist  Natalie Clein is known for her captivating performances, and has achieved global recognition for her collaborations with leading orchestras worldwide. Notable from a young age, Clein won the BBC Young Musician of the Year and the Eurovision Competition for Young Musicians, leading to a distinguished career that combines performance, teaching, and artistic direction.

Clein has released critically acclaimed recordings with Hyperion, featuring works by Saint-Saëns, Bloch, Bruch, and contemporary composers. Other highlights include tours in Australia, the USA, and Ireland, performances across the UK, and participation in international festivals and competitions. An advocate for chamber music, Clein has collaborated with renowned musicians and curated innovative concerts, reflecting her commitment to both classical and contemporary repertoire.

Beyond performance, she contributes to music education as Professor of Cello at the Rostock Academy of Music in Germany and previously as Artist in Residence at Oxford University.  She is also currently Professor at the Royal College of Music (London).
