Tamayo's credits as a pedagogue include professorships at the Mozarteum University of Arts in Salzburg and the Landeskonservatorium in Klagenfurt. He is the author of a book titled “Essential Principles for the Performance on the Classical Guitar,” now an influential work in modern classical guitar pedagogy.
