Jakob Wagner is a prize winning classical guitarist, lutenist and musicologist currently based in Salzburg and specialising in early music.
Jakob Wagner studied classical Guitar, Theorbo, Musicology and English Literature in Augsburg, Düsseldorf, Paris and Salzburg. He won prizes at numerous national and international competitions such as the Hannabach Competition or the Nordhorn Competition and holds several scholarships from prestigious institutions such as the Richard Wagner Society or the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. A special focus of his work lies on early music and historical plucked instruments. By combining research and performance, his aim is to bring the music of the past to life in the most vivid and compelling way.
