Francisco Tarrega’s Gran Vals is well known for having been the inspiration for Nokia’s famous ringtone (widely considered the most recognizable). At its peak, it was estimated to have been heard about 1.8 billion times a day, which equates to 2000 plays per second. It is hard to know whether it was Nokia who made the Gran Vals and Tarrega more popular, or perhaps the other way around!
