Though we know very little about Matteo Carcassi’s life, his music has become a staple of the classical guitar repertoire. His 25 Melodic and Progressive Etudes (op. 60) are a particularly great collection of pieces focused on developing particular techniques, such as scales, arpeggios, and tremolo.
