On Color
Taught by renowned guitarist
Rovshan Mamedkuliev
In this lesson, Rovshan Mamedkuliev discusses the importance of using the wide range of colors available on the classical guitar. He begins by demonstrating the possibilities first in the right hand - changing your position on the string, using nail or flesh, altering the angle of attack - and then follows with the left - fingering on either an open or closed string, adding vibrato and slurs, etc. <br><br>Mamedkuliev then applies these different color possibilities to two pieces - “Andantino in G” by Fernando Sor and “Adelita” by Francisco Tarrega. Using these pieces, Mamedkuliev shows how imitating orchestral instruments can actually bring another dimension to the music.
