Dyens
Fuoco
Taught by renowned guitarist
Tal Hurwitz
Tal Hurwitz teaches the third and final movement, “Fuoco,” of Roland Dyens’ Libra Sonatine. In this lesson, Hurwitz continues elaborating on the technical principles of preparation and stability that he introduced in his first lesson on Villa-Lobos' Etude No. 2.

Hurwitz begins the lesson with an overview of the movements used predominately throughout the piece. He then walks bar-by-bar through the entire work, sharing his fingerings and approach to the particularly complex passages. Throughout the lesson, Hurwitz points out Dyens’ musical influences including harmonic similarities to Chopin’s famous Prelude in E minor and the energetic ending that closely imitates the sound of an Indian tabla.
