Thomas Viloteau performs and teaches Roland Dyens famous “fake” tango, Tango en Skai. Viloteau, who studied with Dyens, shares many of the composer’s interpretive preferences, the primary one being that the piece should always feel improvised.<br><br>The lesson focuses on many of the piece’s technical challenges which Viloteau solves by breaking down into small, “easy things.” Viloteau also emphasizes the importance of playing with rhythmic accuracy, especially in the sections that are three against two.
