Petenera

The petenera is a Spanish 'palo' (or form) with a slower and melancholic character. One of the most important aspects of this form is its lyrical quality. Eduardo Inestal recommends making up lyrics and singing them to get a natural sense of phrasing in Regino Sainz de la Maza's composition based on this popular Spanish form.

Zapateado

In this video, Eduardo Inestal teaches Regino Sainz de la Maza's Zapateado. The zapateado is a dance that has traveled to and from Spain from various Latin American countries and has evolved to be a fun and stylistically complex style.

Rondeña

In this lesson, Eduardo Inestal explores Eduardo Sainz de la Maza's Rondeña. Eduardo describes the music as being quasi-flamenco and that it needs rhythmic drive, melodic clarity, and a bit of that quintessential 'Spanish arrogance.'
