Introduction: History, Style, Ornamentation
In this lesson, Lisa Yui introduces the history of the Italian Concerto. In addition, she shares advice on how to play dynamics, ornaments and interpret Bach's Style!
I. [Allegro]
Lisa Yui teaches the 1st movement of Bach's Italian Concerto, explaining the different structural aspects of the piece, advice on how to perform the dynamics, and many technical suggestions to provide ease while playing!
II. Andante
The beautiful 2nd movement of Bach's Italian Concerto is taught by Lisa Yui, where she speaks about pedaling, phrasing the beautiful melodies and counterpoint, as well as advice for technical considerations.
III. Presto
In this lesson, Lisa Yui discusses the tempo "Presto" and how to find the right character for the movement. She offers advice on ornamentation, technical execution, and how to stylize the different sections throughout.
