Hi, my name's Karl, and I've been using tonebase for almost a year. I want to share a new feature called Your Practice Plan. It starts with a quiz that assesses your knowledge and skills in various areas of cello playing, then generates a structured plan to help you improve in the areas you need to work on. For me, it placed me at level five—I'm still figuring out exactly what that means—but it recommended lessons on music theory, using a metronome more effectively, string crossings, and playing arpeggios. I realized I hadn’t done much work on arpeggios at all, so this feature was a great way to identify and address my blind spots. When learning the cello, especially as a beginner, it’s easy to overlook areas that need improvement, and this tool makes it simple to focus on what really matters. I highly recommend checking it out!
