Hi, my name is Rick Lord, and I'm a very appreciative student of the classical guitar. I have been playing since college, and now in early retirement, have a renewed passion for the instrument.
And I was looking not too long ago for an online platform that would appeal to the intermediate and advanced player. And when I saw the quality of the performers and teachers that were being presented on tonebase, I knew that I had to give it a try — and boy, am I glad I did.
Think about having teachers such as Sharon Isbin, David Russell, Scott Tennant, Eliot Fisk, Laura Snowden — just to name a few — and Steven Goss, coming into your room and on your computer, guiding you along the way, whether it’s a new piece of repertoire that you’ve always wanted to play, or a technical area that you know you want to polish and develop.
I consider these people my friends now, even though I’ve never met them — only virtually. But the quality of their teaching, and the way in which they express their love for the instrument is just wonderful and inspirational to me.
Also there are the wonderful Community Challenges that tonebase presents, helping us to stretch ourselves and sharing those challenges with a wonderful forum of remarkable guitarists from all around the world — people like you and me, who are just trying to become the best players they can be. And it’s really encouraging to get feedback from them and to get encouragement as well.
I can’t say enough about the quality of tonebase. So if you’re looking for a really outstanding experience, and to be connected to some of the best performers and teachers the guitar world has to offer, then I think tonebase is just right for you. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I have. Thanks.
