Nigel North

Nigel North is an educator of unmatched range and versatility. Known as one of the world’s foremost experts in the lute, he brings to bear deep wisdom on Baroque music and string instruments, which classical guitarists of all levels can benefit from.

In early childhood, North studied violin and guitar, before honing in on the lute as his main passion at the age of 15. He went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London, under the tutelage of John Williams and Carlos Bonnel for classical guitar, Francis Baines for viola da gamba, and Diana Poulton for lute, graduating with distinction in lute performance.
